Breakfast is an important meal of the day. Ensuring that you’re filling your body with the right kind of fuel is the key to lasting energy and essential for weight loss. Furthermore, breakfast sets the tone for the rest of your day.
To help you keep your hunger at bay and keep your macros in check, here’s a list of six amazingly delicious, macro-friendly breakfast ideas!
Macro-Friendly Egg White Muffins
This is by far one of the easiest recipes when you need to serve your entire family. Just take out your muffin pan and spray lightly with your favorite non-stick cooking spray. Next fill each slot ½ – ¾ of the way with egg whites. Now, add in your favorite healthy ingredients like, peppers, spinach, tomatoes, turkey sausage and even a little shredded cheese. Next, bake at 350 degrees until the edges are golden. Once cooled, you can bag and refrigerate. When you’re ready to eat, simply reheat in the microwave for 45 seconds and you’re ready to go.

This is quite possibly the most simple and fast macro-friendly breakfast out there! Simply grab your favorite brand of Greek yogurt, place in a bowl and add a low-glycemic fruit like berries. You can even sprinkle in some chia seeds or nuts for a little crunch and added flavor.

Again, when you’re on the run in the morning, the last thing you need is a crazy complicated recipe to sort through. If you have time for Steal Cut oats, they are always your best option. However, if you’re in a rush, grab a container of Quaker Old Fashioned Oats and you’re ready to roll. For added flavor, toss in a pinch of cinnamon, some fruit or a bit of sugar-free maple syrup.
Once you have your oats cooking, throw 2-3 egg whites on the skillet. In an even bigger hurry? Pre-cook hardboiled eggs and just remove the yolks. Add a few berries or a half of a banana and you’re ready to roll.

Omelets may take a few more minutes out of your morning routine, but trust me, they are totally worth it! For this one, cook up some egg whites and while your eggs are cooking, prep and chop your turkey sausage and spinach. When egg whites are ready to fold, toss in the spinach and turkey sausage and flip to finish cooking. For an added punch of flavor, throw is some low-fat feta cheese or goat cheese. Top off this protein power house with a side of mixed berries.

If you don’t already know, meal prepping is a great way to save on time and calories and pre-made breakfast sandwiches that you can freeze and reheat are no exception to this rule. All you need are multi-grain or whole wheat English muffins, eggs and turkey sausage (or turkey bacon if that’s your preference). Simply cook up the eggs and sausage and pop the muffins in the toaster. Next assemble the sandwich, place in a plastic zip lock bag and pop in the freezer. When you’re in need of breakfast on the run, just place the sandwich in the microwave for 60-90 seconds and voila, breakfast is served!
