Portobello Mushrooms Au Gratin


6 portobello mushroom caps
1 ¾ cups shredded muenster cheese
⅔ cup whole wheat bread crumbs
2 tbs chopped parsley
1 garlic clove, chopped
Salt and pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Split the portobello mushroom caps to make 12 thin rounds
  3. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a medium mixing bowl
  4. Layer the portobello rounds and mixture in a sprayed baking dish, making about 3 layers.
  5. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons of water
  6. Cover dish with foil and bake for 35 minutes
  7. Remove tin foil and bake for another 7-8 minutes
