DO NOT LET THE SCALE DEFINE YOU!!!
Stop stressing about the number on the scale! The scale cannot separate and does not take in to account the amount of muscle mass you have, sodium, water and volume of food that you have eaten, among other things.
I am 9 pounds heavier on the right. The “heaviest” I’ve been in 2 years.
This isn’t a transformation – I know I was already “thin” to start with – but rather, this is progress.
Please don’t judge and say I looked just as good on the left or I’m too thin on the right. I was living on salads and grilled chicken, afraid to eat carbs, spinning my wheels doing cardio for years on end. While I didn’t know it at the time I had a terrible relationship with food. I thought eating less was better. I am SO MUCH healthier and stronger on the right. I eat from ALL food groups. 55% of my diet comes from carbs. I lift a ton of weight despite back surgery and am stronger both mentally and physically than ever at 46.
I want to help you realize that you are more than a number on a scale! As long as you are eating healthy and keeping fit, there’s no way your body isn’t changing even if the scale doesn’t!
Your fitness isn’t defined by a particular weight.
Instead of using the scale as an indicator of progress, use pictures, measurements, health, and most of all HAPPINESS. After all, isn’t it better to be able to fit into an old pair of jeans then a silly number on the scale?
